Position Description

The Director of Supply Chain, Customer Experience will lead all customer-centric responsibilities within the Supply Chain function, including demand forecasting/planning, inventory management, order fulfillment, and issue resolution. This leader will be responsible for the combined Customer Service and Demand Planning teams under our new Supply Chain organizational structure, collaborating with Commercial leadership on all customer-oriented aspects of our operation. The Director of Supply Chain, Customer Experience will work with customers to improve promotion planning and the overall Supply Chain performance for Refresco and the customer. This includes but is not limited to; forecast accuracy, order fill rate, inventory days of supply (DOS) and aged inventory. This position will also manage the supply chain aspects of; assigned customer projects, major customer initiatives, including multi-plant, and multi-customer projects.

Essential Functions:

• Implement transformation of separate Demand Planning and Client Supply Chain functions to unified customer-centric Customer Experience team; remove barriers to effective communication and collaboration; and implement advanced metrics, tools, and processes aligned with Customer Experience (CX) methodologies
• Drive internal and external customer collaboration. This includes, and is not limited to weekly meeting and interactions with customer supply chain groups (Buyers, managers, directors, and if necessary, category management)
• Work in collaboration with Supply planning to determine the appropriate inventory levels for finished goods; develop and implement segmented approach to inventory and service level targets, reducing cost and working capital impacts of retail inventory model
• Design and implement improved forecasting processes across extended timelines, to support complex S&OP cadence
• Evaluate pre and post promotional activity together with Sales and Demand Planning and implement the necessary steps for correction and/or improvement.
• Drive effective process for avoidance and minimization of customer-imposed fines & deductions; ensure clear and transparent analysis and feedback to Sales teams to enable pass-through of administrative costs in pricing
• Support Sales in Supply Chain related analysis reporting, develop recommendations and drive execution.
• Ensure that projects are properly resourced and produce the desired results.
• Work with Sales & Marketing on new product execution (NPE) to ensure successful and timely launch to market.
• Work with sales and customer on dealing with potential aging inventory issues identified by Supply planning. Work with customer and sales corrective actions necessary to address inventory issues. (Decrease in POS, delisting).
• Work proactively with Materials Management to reduce obsolescence on inventory raw materials inventory, including packaging AND concentrates of materials being discontinued.
• Provide support data to optimize product portfolios to improve customer P&L (i.e. sourcing decision, inventory carrying costs, materials)
• Build effective relationships with Customer Account Teams, Plant Managers, Production Managers, and the Supply Chain team to ensure that communication and planning are reliable and potential issues are avoided both internally and externally.
• Rollout of new functionality and enhancements of existing tools and functionality that support Supply Chain planning, such as:
  • Transactional – SAP system enhancements
  • GIB upgrades
  • Reporting – BW, BI, Excel, other
  • Future technology improvements
• Supports business reporting and advanced analytics:
  • Daily Dashboards
  • Order Management Metrics and Trackers
• Coordinate process re-design / enhancements that promote efficiency and information transparency
• Acts as communication focal point for all systems and related topics within Demand and Customer Service
• Supports special projects as directed by Vice President, Supply Chain
• Track and monitor ACE new product introduction projects as it relates to all aspects
• Additionally, this role supports ad-hoc business analytics / reporting to identify trends and support the S&OP process.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline
• Minimum 10 years’ experience with Supply Chain Management – food/beverage, food ingredients, grocery retail, CPG, or equivalent
• Prior experience at Director level or above managing diverse teams
• Experience in building effective collaborative relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
• Understanding of various systems including order management, forecasting, adhoc database management
• Able to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment

Skills and Competencies:

• Proven people leadership capabilities in a collaborative, cross-functional environment developing and motivating teams
• Demonstrated success in process improvement across functional boundaries
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills across all leadership levels of an organization
• Ability to work with and effectively communicate with Operations and Finance
• Demonstrated problem solving skills, with proven ability to initiate, compile, analyze and provide accurate reporting
• Ability to manage multiple priorities towards required timeframes
• Inventory Management/Order Fulfillment background in Consumer Goods
• Inventory Management with a Beverage Industry Company an asset
• Ability to establish, meet deadlines and prioritize work
• Must be confident, approachable, and energetic with an eye for detail
• Knowledge of ERP/DRP/MRP planning systems
• SAP knowledge desired
• Demonstrated proficiency utilizing Advanced Planning tools, such as Kinaxis, Manugistics, JDA/Blue Yonder, SAP APO/IBP, GIB or similar systems
• A solid understanding of manufacturing operations and KPI’s.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint

• Onsite – This position offers the flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week.
• Physical Demands– Continuously sitting for prolonged periods is possible.
• Visual/Sensory – This position requires attention to detail, requiring attention with one or two senses at a time.
• Work Environment – Work and environment fasted paced, requiring ability to remain focused under pressure.
• Mental Stress – There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, project management, accuracy, or similar demands.
