Ramboll is seeking an experienced Ecologist or Biodiversity Specialist. This position is located in Seattle, Washington, but we are considering candidates in the Pacific or Mountain time zones.
We are looking for candidates with about 10 years of experience in this field, including 2 years in project management. Our biodiversity and ecology team supports clients with a wide range of environmental issues including biodiversity and ecosystem services, nature-based solutions, restoration, remediation, toxicology, anthropogenic disturbance, and climate change.

Salary Transparency Statement
At Ramboll, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role is likely to be compensated at an annual base salary between $85,000 and $110,000. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range, depending on numerous factors, including experience, geographical location, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and skill level, and does not include bonuses, overtime, or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Overview of Benefits for Regular Full-Time Employees
Eligibility – First of the month coincident with or next following date of hire.
Health Insurance – Medical and prescription drug coverage available through Cigna (choice of a Low Deductible Plan or a High Deductible Plan with a Health Savings Account); dental coverage available through Cigna; vision coverage available through VSP; employee contributions vary based on plan selected and level of coverage. Note: If you do not elect benefits during open enrollment or 30 days after hire, all employee paid voluntary health and welfare benefits will be waived on your behalf for the 2023 plan year. You will have the opportunity to enroll in benefits during next year’s open enrollment or if you have a qualified life event.
Traditional and Roth 401(k) Plans – Eligible employees have the option to contribute up to 80% (to a max of $22,500 for 2023) of eligible salary in pre-tax and/or post-tax dollars (employees can contribute to the traditional 401(k) and Roth 401(k) simultaneously). Ramboll will match dollar for dollar up to the first 3% of the employee’s contribution. All employer match contributions are immediately vested. Catch-up contributions of up to $7,500 are available to employees age 50 or older. Additionally, Ramboll will provide a 2% annual non-elective contribution to all eligible employees.
Flexible Spending Accounts – Option to withhold salary on a pre-tax basis for reimbursement of eligible unreimbursed medical expenses (e.g. those not covered by insurance) and/ or dependent day care expenses. The maximum withholding is $3,050 for medical expenses and $5,000 for dependent care.
Health Savings Account – HSA contribution limits: • IRS allows $3,850/individual and $7,750/family. • Workday allows you to withhold salary on a pre-tax basis up to $3,100/individual and $6,250/ family to account for employer contributions to your HSA. • An additional $1,000 catch-up contribution is allowed for individuals who are 55 or older.
Wellness – Employees enrolled in one of the Cigna health plans have the opportunity to earn up to $1,000 in incentives by participating in Cigna’s incentive program MotivateMe. Participate in a biometric screening to receive an $800 medical plan premium credit. Participate in specific wellness activities and receive up to $200 in cash incentives. Employees are also eligible to be reimbursed up to $200 for approved exercise programs or fitness organization memberships. Note: Ramboll will continue to reimburse expenses for home office furniture or home fitness equipment, tutoring services and mental health coverage.
Basic Life/Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) – One times annual base salary up to $500,000. Company paid.
Voluntary Life Insurance and AD&D – Option to purchase additional life insurance through the Hartford in guaranteed issue up to $300,000 in coverage for employee, up to $30,000 for spouse, up to $20,000 for dependent children. Amounts over the guaranteed issue will require Evidence of Insurability.
Short-Term Disability (STD) ** • Employees receive 100% of salary for the first 4 weeks of short-term disability (STD) and 60% of salary for up to an additional 22 weeks with no weekly maximum (with medical certification) • Accrued sick leave (L-Ramboll employees only) and PTO time may be used to offset any STD benefit. • Short term disability waiting period 7 days
Long-Term Disability (LTD) 60% of base monthly earnings up to a max of $10,000 after 180 days of disability (company paid).
Parental Leave ** • Parents may take up to 8 weeks of 100% paid Parental Leave subject to guidelines. • Must be taken within 12 months of the birth, adoption or foster placement. • Follows short-term disability and runs concurrently with the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave and state paid leave.
Caregiver Leave ** Employees may take up to 4 weeks per calendar year of 100% paid Caregiver Leave, subject to the provisions of the Federal Family & Medical Leave Act.
Company Holidays – 8 paid days per year.
Paid Time Off (PTO) Accrues per pay period. Accrual based on years of relevant experience. Accrual cap and Carryover maximum of 232 hours. At separation, or when an employee changes to a temporary or casual status, up to 160 hours will be paid out unless state law dictates otherwise.
Commuter Benefits Ramboll sponsors a Commuter Benefits program through the Wex SmartCommute Program*. Employees can contribute up to $300 pre-tax to pay for eligible public transit and parking.
