Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary is seeking a full-time Professor of New Testament Studies. In collaboration with the President,
Academic Dean, Faculty, and the Director of the Doctoral Program, the person who fills this position will serve in the Ph.D. and Th.M.
programs at Puritan Reformed. The position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate in the seminary’s blended-learning doctoral
program with residential faculty, partner institutions and visiting professors from across the world, an international student body, and
research institutes.
Primary responsibilities: 1) teaching New Testament courses in the Ph.D. and Th.M. programs; 2) mentoring
doctoral students in New Testament; 3) supervising or co-supervising doctoral dissertations and Master’s theses; 4) producing
scholarly publications; 5) leading and participating in research projects; 6) sharing departmental and committee tasks; 7) participating in
and contributing to the international academy.
Required education and experience: The successful applicant must hold a doctoral
degree in New Testament or Early Christianity and should have the following skills and characteristics: demonstrated excellence in teaching,
research, publication, and supervision; demonstrated success working independently and collaboratively with faculty, external researchers,
and research groups in New Testament and other disciplines; pastoral and preaching experience that reflect familiarity with contemporary
culture; and experience in distance education.
The successful candidate will wholeheartedly embrace and actively promote the
confessional and experiential truths of the classical Reformed tradition. He should be committed in doctrine and practice to the preparation
of students to serve Christ and His church through biblical, Reformed, experiential, and practical ministry, and formally subscribe to the
Three Forms of Unity and/or the Westminster Standards.
