JOB OBJECTIVE: The Associate Product Manager provides support to Genetic Identity product management in the development, launch, commercialization, and maintenance of Genetic Identity products. The Associate Product Manager has the ability to manage a product line (
CORE DUTIES:
New Product Development
1. Under the direction of a (Senior) Product Manager, participate in new product development (NPD) team meetings.
2. Perform market research to support new product market assessments, product requirements, voice of customer (VoC), go to market strategies and pricing.
3. Assist Product Managers with product launches, perform kit inspections, prepare launch binders, focus cards, weekly web bulletin communication. Update internal websites to ensure appropriate product information is available to global sales channels.
4. Assist Product Managers in training the sales and technical staff and Distributors by coordinating and preparing training materials.
5. Provide support with the alpha test plans by coordinating alpha testers, gathering, and compiling feedback, and communicating this feedback to the Product Managers and Product Development Team.
Product Maintenance
6. Assist Product Managers with post-launch review and evaluation of product performance. Gather financial data, customer feedback and other input for the post-launch review.
7. Prepare customer notifications at the direction of the Product Manager.
8. Provide Product Managers with financial data (revenues, COGS; etc.) on products.
9. Assist Product Managers with product discontinuation process.

10. Communicate and collaborate effectively with several levels of co-workers and external contacts. Adapt communication style and approach to suit different audiences.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, forensic science, cell biology, biochemistry, or related areas.
2. 1-3 years lab experience in life sciences.
3. Highly motivated self-starter with strong bias for action result-orientation; tackles tough problems with firm deadlines.
4. Effectively and efficiently prioritize multiple projects and resources based on an awareness of business goals and priorities in a rapidly advancing market.
5. Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey both technical and marketing information.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. M.S. or PhD degree in molecular biology, forensic science, cell biology, biochemistry, or related area.
2. Previous industry related experience in Product/Marketing Management, Technical Services and/or Sales.
3. 1-3 years of experience with customer interactions, marketing/commercialization activities or financial planning.
4. Market research fundamentals including objectives, question formulation, methodology (surveys, focus groups, etc.).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Ability to use computer equipment and Microsoft Office applications.
2. Ability to travel 10% of the time.
