The Novelis North America (NNA) team is seeking a Procurement TMS Analyst. This analyst will be supporting the Transportation Category Manager with Transportation procurement issues, teaming with leadership to develop the strategic direction of transportation category. As well as presenting and elevating as vital through the accurate chain of command; support process improvement efforts by developing and implementing recommendations to improve the purchasing and materials management efficiency and effectiveness through SAP, MDM, TMS and related supporting processes.
The purpose of the Transportation Analyst is to assist the Transportation Category Manager in efficiently implementing and completing all strategic purchasing initiatives as well as support the day-to-day activities related to sourcing needs for transportation.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Responsibilities
Collaborating with category manager to develop and implement category strategic plan
Ensure effective management of rates, annual/monthly/weekly reporting, bid analysis and contract negotiations related to transportation
Assist with driving cost savings and pipeline project opportunities through supplier development, value analysis, market research, cost reduction for major cost for commodities, as well as delivery and quality assurance.
Coordinate tactical functions within Procurement Department; monthly inflation forecasting, reporting, lead annual RFP’s,
Identifies transportation process improvement opportunities through strategic thinking, critical thinking, and analysis.
Applies quantitative skills to build and analyze reports to support business execution. Supports the business through ad-hoc queries and maintains reports from a variety of resources as specific to department or organizational needs.
Performs data management through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, process mapping, and/or problem analysis, while performing day to day processes related to area of responsibility.
Procurement/sourcing responsibilities to support the Category Manager with the transportation commodity while engaging with the leaders of the Logistics Team and Plant Logistics Staff
Vendor Development / Savings Development / Reporting / Forecasting / Contract Management / DPO / Relationship Management.
Assist Category Lead with Market Research, Analytics, and Reporting
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics,
3-5 years of Supply Chain experience or similar subject area with an intricate manufacturing environment, aluminum, casting, rolling and / or recycling
Experience in the field of Transportation is required
Excellent digital literacy, MS Office Excel proficient
Experience with SAP and TMS (JDA preferred)
Ability to handle sophisticated databases and make data driven decisions
In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and business policy and practices
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Candidate must have shown strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly retrieve, manipulate, analyze, and interpret data.
Ability to influence, lead, and get results across all levels in the organization
Ability to clarify and resolve sophisticated business issues by breaking them down into significant components to settle root cause and redesigning internal and external business processes and relationships
Proven track record of success and expanded responsibility within a growing and sophisticated organization
Ability to adapt to change and operate in a fast-paced environment
