Princeton University seeks a highly relational, collaborative, and experienced leader with high professional and ethical standards who will serve as the Deputy Vice President Audit and Compliance (DVP), assisting the Vice President and Chief Audit and Compliance Officer (CACO) in providing both strategic and operational direction to the Office of Audit and Compliance (OAC). The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction and leadership while also “rolling up their sleeves” to ensure adequate supervision for effective project management and delivery. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an innovative leader to collaborate with campus partners to address complex issues effectively and efficiently. The successful individual will mentor and develop the talent within the office and place the highest priority on being collaborative and fully-engaged in the execution and delivery of work at the highest standards of excellence.
The DVP will be responsible for leading and executing the internal audit function to achieve OAC’s strategic goals and objectives and compliance with operating procedures and applicable regulations, policies, and standards.
In partnership with the CACO, they will lead the planning and execution of operational, research, information technology and financial audits and advisory services to determine risks, evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, and assess compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures. Most importantly, they will be responsible for the supervision and efficient delivery of high-quality OAC projects, reporting, and communications.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, business, or another related field, and a minimum of twelve years’ experience in audit or with complementary experience in risk management or project management. The successful candidate will be innovative, proactive, and collaborative with excellent strategic, leadership, and team-building skills, with exceptional time management and project management abilities. In addition, the ideal candidate will have the demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously to deliver quality project outcomes.
