Job Description
Responsible to manage and drive measurable improvement in procurement strategies for his/her assigned business categories. The incumbent performs assignments requiring a solid knowledge of the market(s) for assigned categories as well as procurement best practices, theories, principles, and disciplines. S/he evaluates variable issues and risks; facilitates mitigation and resolution of issues and interacts with management on a regular basis. S/he will oversee major category strategies to source, contract and coordinate associated support with Business and Procurement colleagues with the support of the Procurement Director.
Responsibilities
• Ability to perform with independence and judgment and seeks guidance when needed.
• Knowledge of category management, business and supply chain management practices, theories, principles, and disciplines
• Proficient category/commodity knowledge including marketplace, key suppliers, commodities, and future trends.
• Category/Commodity Management experience/sectors preferred: Engineering Requirements in Construction/Manufacturing, Fleet, Equipment, Logistics, Transportation, Commodities – steel, concrete, glass
• Demonstrated success of leading teams to achieve quantifiable results – both in savings, cost avoidance and value engineering outcomes.
• Highly motivated with the ability to help drive change.
• Project management skills and results-oriented.
• Solid business acumen accompanied by solid and reliable interpersonal skills.
• Effective negotiation and influence skills.
• Track record for cultivating strong relationships with internal stakeholders and supplier stakeholders that have resulted in high customer satisfaction.

• Strong analytical skills including the ability to distill, synthesize, and draw conclusions on large amounts of data.
• Creates recommended business cases for solutions; solicits feedback from colleagues and managers.
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS,
EDUCATION And EXPERIENCE
• BS/BA in a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum 5-7 years of successful experience in, and related to Strategic Sourcing – 7 step process,
Category strategy and planning, Category/ Commodity Management
• Strong analytical ability including Microsoft desktop – Excel, Word, PPT proficiency.
• Experience in SQL, Power BI a plus
• Highly collaborative self-starter
• Available to travel up to 10%
• Technical requirements to include familiarity with digital platforms – Enterprise Resource
Planning/ERP, Material Requirements Planning/MRP, Manufacturing Execution System/MES.
