Pomp’s Tire Service is urgently hiring for a Corporate Counsel. The Corporate Counsel provides legal support to Pomp’s Tire Service locations in the areas of leases, contract issues and more.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and conduct research related to business transactions and filings
• Prepare and draft business and legal documents
• Manage/oversee vendor contracts
• Negotiate complex retail leases and related documents.
• Provide ongoing legal support for a portfolio of stores, including legal support for lease administration, lease accounting, and facilities management.
• Identifying and addressing potential legal issues and regulatory risks for current activities, operations, and strategic initiatives; identifying outside counsel experts as needed
• Provide effective guidance of contract issues to management
• Manage/oversee the preparation of closing documents and other post-closing deliverables; distribute to appropriate parties
• Direct interface with attorneys, Pomp’s teammates, regulatory agencies, and opposing counsel
• Prepare and enforce policies and procedures to establish a positive culture of legal compliance
• Coordinate response to inquiries from MSHA, OSHA, or other local, state, and federal regulators
• Plan and implement policies and programs, including drafting and proposing new content
• Support human resources, safety, fleet, and various corporate teams in improvement of corporate information systems
• Other duties assigned by his/her direct report

Job Requirements:

• JD from an accredited law school, with strong academic credentials
• Admitted to practice law and in good standing within the United States
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass pre-employment driver’s file
• Strong understanding of contract provisions and risks and the legal areas and laws that impact them
• Previous years of experience with MSHA, OSHA, DOT, EPA or other regulatory agencies is positive.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
