The Senior Director of Campus Life & the Residential Experience reports to the Dean of Students and sets the strategic vision for students’ experience outside the classroom. Leading the Office of Residence Life and the Office of Student Engagement, this individual also directs all aspects of student conduct and establishes standards for community responsibility.

Responsibilities
General
-Provide visionary and strategic leadership to the offices of Student Engagement Residence Life, developing a cohesive vision for campus life that aligns with the College’s mission and vision.
-Participate in and contribute to student success efforts to improve retention, persistence, graduation, and career outcomes.
-Support the engagement of students in campus life across a wide variety of interests and activities.
-Drive initiatives that promote diversity, equity, belonging, and inclusion across all aspects of student life, ensuring an environment that respects and celebrates students’ diverse backgrounds, interests, and perspectives.
-Participate in crisis intervention and response efforts, ensuring the safety and well-being of students in collaboration with campus partners.
-Foster strong collaborations with partners in academic affairs, athletics, and beyond.
-Serve on and support the efforts of the Behavioral Intervention Team.
-Collaborate with the Director of Student Advocacy to support students at risk for retention.
-Serve as the Dean of Students’ designee or representative when appropriate.
Student Conduct -Serve as the College’s chief conduct officer, overseeing the operation of the campus student and organizational conduct system including the assigning of incidents, administrative hearings, and student conduct boards.
-Provide organization and training to all staff involved in the student conduct process.
-Establish a vision for student conduct, restorative justice measures, and establishing a climate of shared personal and communal responsibility across campus.
-Develop and prepare reports on the activities and data for the student conduct system including student behavior and conduct trends.
-Conduct appropriate activities to ensure effective, innovative, and high-quality programs, interventions, and developmental experiences for students.
Community Development
-Develop and implement a coherent philosophy of student engagement that supports both residential and off campus students, with emphasis on programs and initiatives that facilitate student satisfaction, retention, and persistence.
-Oversee assessment initiatives focused on campus life and the residential experience.
-Oversee the coordination of all student onboarding activities including New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, and other new student initiatives focused on building a sense of affinity and belonging to the College.
-Respond to a wide range of stakeholder interests, including students, parents, colleagues, and the community.
-Provide crisis intervention and support as needed related to personal and disciplinary problems, academic performance and educational objectives; refer students to and interface with college departments for resolution of problems or complaints.
-Provide on-call coverage for Residence Life issues as needed.
Campus Life Operations
-Provide oversight in the development and maintenance of student housing contracts, rules and regulations, the housing handbook, housing brochures, etc.
-Ensure high level collaboration under the Campus Life umbrella, and with related support areas including Enrollment & Academic Operations, College Police, General Services, etc.
-Ensure safety standards to assure compliance with all regulatory codes in student housing.
-Forecast and review Residence Life budgets, including developing and managing a housing occupancy plan, furniture replacement plan, and overall financial plan that includes maintaining a deficit-free housing budget.
-Forecast and review Student Engagement budgets, including operational expenses for programming and facilities.
-Represent Campus Life & the Residential Experience in College functions including, but not limited to, Open Houses, campus tours, and other College events. -Participate in College committees appropriate to the position and as requested.
-Prepare or oversee the preparation of special periodic reports on departmental operations, cost or new programs.
-Evaluate the effectiveness of department operations and initiate organizational change and policy/procedure revisions.
-Plan for and authorize purchase of furniture, equipment and supplies.

Pay TransparencyBased on minimum education and experience qualifications the yearly salary range is $101,000-$108,000.College Statement
