In addition, the Manager needs to monitor competitor marketing and keep informed of industry trends and best practices. The Manager will establish and maintain relationships with key College partners, including partners at the University and externally, and manage relationships with outside vendors utilized for communications materials/services. A key responsibility will be to serve as the college’s main point of contact for external media in order to build and manage the College’s external profile with media channels, reporters, and influencers. The Director will have ultimate responsibility for the College of Education website and social media platforms. Other important responsibilities include writing speeches and comments/talking points for the Dean for public presentations. The Manager will manage and direct marketing and communications staff and vendors responsible for implementing marketing and communications plans, as well as managing department budgets and approving appropriate expenditures for administration of the marketing and communications unit, programs, staff, special projects, and events.
