JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Sociology and Criminology in the College of the Liberal Arts is seeking an Administrative Support Coordinator to perform a wide variety of administrative and support functions. The Administrative Support Coordinator will work closely with the Department Head and various levels of staff and administrative faculty within the department, as well as with other college and university offices. In addition, this position will work closely with and back-up the Department’s Administrative Operations Manager to develop and oversee processes and procedures in all administrative functions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Coordinating faculty search processes; coordinating hiring and appointment processes for faculty
Coordinating the promotion and tenure process for tenure-line faculty and the promotion process for non-tenure track faculty
Coordinating the faculty annual review process
Managing faculty travel and research accounts and processing expenditures and reimbursements
Providing administrative support to our directors and coordinators for our Masters of Professional Studies
Education and Experience: This position will be filled as a level 3 and typically requires an Associate’s degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail. They must have the ability to set priorities, work with a high level of professionalism both independently and as a member of a team, and mentor others; to use sound judgement, to have flexibility; and to be able to handle sensitive information with absolute confidentiality.
Experience and knowledge with standard computer applications and university systems are desired. In addition, successful candidates must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity.
