Peninsula Plastics Recycling Hiring for HR/Safety Coordinator Job at Turlock, CA Full Time

We are searching for an experienced Human Resources/Safety Coordinator to join our team in Turlock, CA.

As the Human Resources/Safety Coordinator you are responsible for ensuring that all employee paperwork and documentation is completed from timecards to safety certifications and meetings. You will work as a link between management and employees ensuring that all employees are following company policies and law and that they are treated and treating each other in a respectful manner.

Qualifications:

• Five years plus proven experience in Human Resources and Safety Programs.
• Experience in manufacturing industry a plus.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
• Superior ability to communicate orally, in writing and in electronic formats.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all levels of the organization.
• Coaching, facilitating and training skills.
• Ability to deliver meaningful feedback and coach the employees and staff.
• Knowledge of employment and wage laws.
• Work experience & training in OSHAS 18001, ISO 9001, 14001. Knowledge of OSHA required training and documentation Forms 300, 301 & 301A.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Human Resources

• Ensure systems and processes are in place for effective employee communications.
• Recruiting including reviewing resumes, administering pre-employment screening, interviewing and reference checks.
• Onboarding, orientation and training.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory compliance agencies as it relates to labor, wage and hour, and employment laws.
• Manage all site safety and security activities, trainings and programs. Ensures all accidents, near-miss incidents and security issues are communicated, reported, and measured to ensure full regulatory compliance.
• Manage employee facility access cards and maintain system for security.
• Manage and administer employee PPE and uniforms.
• Other duties as required by management

Environmental Health and Safety

• Implements and monitors EHS programs including injury reduction, industrial safety, waste management, air emissions, wastewater discharge, and spill/emergency response.
• Conducts and documents safety and environmental inspections as required.
• Inspects and documents work areas to ensure the presence of appropriate fire protection equipment, safety equipment, first-aid supplies, and environmental compliance.
• Ensures compliance regarding hazardous chemicals and substances right to know and related regulations.
• Collects or arranges for sample collection of hazardous materials, gasses, vapors, or other potentially toxic materials for analysis or testing.
• Implements emergency response plans and procedures.
• Function as the primary or alternate Emergency Coordinator as assigned.
• Maintains safety equipment and consumables supply and availability.
• Manage internal safety audits
• Establish and maintain monthly safety committee meetings
• Manage the development of safety training materials which includes translating into Spanish
• Oversite of inventory of PPE, safety, and first aid supplies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
