Pathway Health is an independently owned, nationally recognized consulting company that prides itself on employing best and brightest staff consultants and trainers in the nation. We provide consulting services to skilled nursing-long term health care, senior housing, assisted living, memory care, home care, group home, physician practice, and hospice.
The Pathway EHR Consultant performs training for a variety of roles on best practice use of PCC. Some assignments will include training only, others may include configuration, building of custom forms and processes in PCC. Considerable independent judgment is required to carry out assignments that have significant impact on services or programs. Guidelines may be available but require adaptation or interpretation to determine appropriate courses of action. The Consultant may be required to function as a lead worker overseeing the work of other professionals.
Responsibilities:
  • Consultant is expected to be self-starting, independent, and motivated professional
  • Will provide clear, succinct, appropriate, and professional end user EHR training
  • Follow any protocols/check lists required by Pathway and/or partner EHR vendor
  • Provide training both onsite and/or webinar
  • Tune into the audience and adjust speech, teaching methods, or other methods as needed to account for the individual needs of staff being taught
  • Provide clear, succinct, appropriate, and professional training or configuration assistance for customers requiring EHR support. No Pathway employee will change/configure a customer’s EHR without decision maker for that customer giving prior approval and risk/benefits of the change explained to the customer
  • May be requested to complete certification in accordance with EHR vendor procedure
  • Provide consultation on the clinical/practical application of EHR where appropriate
  • Customer service focused. Must be responsive in a timely manner when a client has questions and concerns
  • Stay current with best practice and state/federal regulatory requirements related to EHR and area of clinical expertise (long term care, assisted living, home care, and/or acute care.)
  • Attend regular scheduled or as needed meetings as required by supervisor or their designee
  • Complete online timecard, expense reports, and weekly consultant reports in a timely and thorough manner. Any documents/tasks asked to be completed by Human Resources, supervisor, or their designee, or other Pathway executive, will be done so in a timely and thorough manner
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five (5) years long term care, assisted living, or memory care is preferred.
  • Experience teaching/training others on use of PointClickCare is required.
  • High level of computer acumen, high level of comfort using, interacting with computers, whether desktop, laptop, tablet, smart phone, or other type of device
  • Knowledge of best practice and regulatory requirements related to EHR, and long-term care, assisted living, or home care
  • High level of self-confidence, personal professionalism as evidenced in appearance/dress, appropriateness of speech, timeliness, thoroughness of completing duties as assigned, and ability to create and maintain healthy, appropriate relationships with co-workers and Pathway customers
  • Creativity/Flexibility: Ability to think outside the box, provide ideas to elevate own career and contribute to growth of Pathway
  • Ability to speak clearly, confidently in front of a large or small groups or one to one whether via phone, webinar, or in person
  • Equipment: Computer with up-to-date antivirus protection and preferably 2 screens, phone with hands-free headset, high speed internet connection. Space in home where webinars, phone calls, other work can be done safely and in private when needed
Special Position Requirements:
  • Must maintain active driver’s license and provide proof of auto insurance upon request
  • Must keep professional licenses and certifications updates as required and provide proof of current licensure
  • Travel may be required
Preferences:
  • Leadership experience is preferred. Example: Director/Assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Health Information Management, MDS Coordinator, Administrator, Nurse Manager. RN not a requirement but preferred.
