Pacific Northwest National Laboratory’s Quality Assurance division is expanding, and we are seeking an experienced Construction Quality Assurance Engineer. Do you have experience and a passion in Quality Assurance/Quality Control as it relates to Construction, Fabrication, Engineering or Procurement? Do you want to play a pivotal role in shaping how the Lab’s quality program supports PNNL’s facilities and operations for years to come?
In this position, you will be expected to cultivate relationships across the Lab while demonstrating a passion for communication and creating Win-Win scenarios for projects that you support. You will be working with the Director of Quality, the Quality Management team, and the existing Construction Quality Engineers to help support and provide Quality oversight to a vast project portfolio across the Laboratory within Operational Systems Directorate (OSD).
Responsibilities
As a Construction Quality Engineer, your focus will be to support Construction and Fabrication projects. The following is an overview of responsibilities but should not be considered a comprehensive list:

Minimum Qualifications:
AA and 14 years of relevant experience -OR-
HS/GED and 16 years of relevant experience
Preferred qualification are significant experience in two or more of the following and at least one where you would consider yourself having a high proficiency, soon to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME):

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.

* Background Investigation: Applicants selected will be subject to a federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter in accordance 10 CFR 710, Appendix B.
* Drug Testing: All Security Clearance (L or Q) positions will be considered by the Department of Energy to be Testing Designated Positions which means that they are subject to applicant, random, and for cause drug testing. In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for the 12 consecutive months preceding completion of the requisite Questionnaire for National Security Positions (QNSP).
Testing Designated Position
This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The candidate selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing for illegal drugs, including marijuana, consistent with the Controlled Substances Act and the PNNL Workplace Substance Abuse Program.
