As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by bridging the gap from data to insights. You will identify data intelligence needs, source data, build dashboards, and deliver insightful data assets. You will fill an existing role that sits on a team of 6 people in the Consumer Markets division. Your colleagues will include Visualization & Business Intelligence Developers and will partner with various business functions as well as data engineering professionals. Our team is highly collaborative and varied in skill set, all focusing on developing insightful analytic tools to run our business.

How you will make an impact:

• Develop, own, & support interactive Tableau dashboards that drive insights from data.
• Partner with function leaders and employees to identify data needs and build collaborative relationships.
• Develop Snowflake views & tables required for reporting & dashboards while partnering with data engineering to drive source data to the reporting environment.
• Contribute to general Business Intelligence capabilities including infrastructure, training, query optimization, and governance.
• Develop premium look & feel design concepts that are scalable and repeatable throughout our analytics eco-system.
• Support our embedded analytics platform utilizing the ‘Interworks – Curator’ User Interface to build interactive dashboard experiences.

The experience you will bring:

• 5+ years of experience developing data assets, at least 2 years using Tableau.
• Proficiency in SQL & strong understanding of relational databases.
• Bachelors degree in computer science, data analytics, or equivalent experience.
• Strong problem solving skills and a passion for working with data.
• Highly collaborative, strong communication skills, and the ability to reduce complex problems to their most fundamental components.

What will make you stand out:

• Experience working in Snowflake.
• Experience developing python apps utilizing Streamlit or like libraries.
• Experience embedding dashboard into webpages and web development.
• Experience support working within AWS and developing assets on AWS.

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$141,030.00 – $172,370.00
