Osterville Village Library Looking for Marketing Communications Coordinator/Specialist Full Time

You will work in a state-of-the-art building in a beautiful seaside community.
You will be part of a library and community center serving patrons of all ages in an inspiring atmosphere.
This position is a 20 – 30 hour per week position that includes weekends, some evening and flexibility to adjust to the needs of the events.
Under the direction of the Executive Director and processes defined by business operations, this position performs a wide variety of tasks associated within the various services offered to the community through the library.
They include, but are not limited to:
Definition Under the direction of Library Management, the Marketing Communications Specialist will perform a wide variety of support services that promote the library, its activities and fundraising events.
The assignments include but are not limited to:
Facilitating assigned activities and programs:
– Participate in the planning and facilitation of a wide variety of fundraising events that could include, but are not limited to setup, teardown and visual aid preparation if needed for art displays, specialized workshops, fundraising events, advertising and public relations opportunities.
Event Planning, Preparation and Execution:
Assignments may include, but are not limited to organizing and preparing materials, mailings, promotional efforts and document production and providing information on upcoming activities, events and programs offered by OVL to staff and patrons.
Tasks include:
– Creating and distributing newsletter content; – Updating, maintaining and scheduling Constant Contact fundraising mailing list and mailings; – Updating Web App content; – Creating and processing press releases; – Creating and distributing staff communication with details for use in providing patron assistance; – Creating and processing social media updates (Facebook, Instagram, et al); – Updating record keeping for all programs, events and activities; – Maintaining copies of flyers and information sheets on events for Circulation Desk reference.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience Minimum Associate degree in marketing communication with 2 years of experience.
Strong knowledge of technology and computers, including the ability to use the Internet and email including the ability to research general information.
Frequent use of social media (Instagram, Facebook, et al).
Knowledge and experience updating websites, creating promotional materials including flyers, posters, press releases and instruction/informational sheets.
Candidate of choice must have the ability to deal effectively with the public and co-workers; ability to maintain a professional demeanor and composure when dealing with difficult patrons; ability to follow instructions, to manage numerous diverse tasks at one time, and to complete projects on time with minimum supervision.
Excellent customer service skills; a professional demeanor and comportment; good verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational skills; able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
