Summary: Under the general supervision of the Principal and Assistant Principal, the responsibilities of the position is to assess student proficiency, identify specific areas of ability, deficiency and/or strength; prescribe an appropriate individualized intervention plan.

Qualifications / Experience

• ISBE PEL with Elementary Education Ed (Self Contained Gen Ed) endorsement, required.
• ISBE PEL with Math endorsement, preferred.
• Previous experience working with elementary grade level children.
• Previous experience working as a Math Interventionist, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify students eligible for Intervention Services.
• Provide intervention instruction, monitoring and assessing student progress.
• Follow-up with students after they have been exited from Intervention Services.
• Group students with similar needs for instruction – provide individual and group instruction.
• Evaluate student performance relative to established grade level standards and individual progress.
• Assess the progress of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
• Maintain accurate student records.
• Report student progress to parents, teachers, and school/district administration.
• Guides the learning process toward achievement of district approved curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects; to communicate these objectives to students.
• Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
• Strives to implement by instruction and action the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Assesses the learning of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
