Olivet College, a liberal arts college in south central Michigan with a long-standing commitment to inclusion and diversity, invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Business & Director of Graduate Business Programs.
This full-time tenure track faculty position will be responsible for leading and overseeing the successful operation of the college’s successful online MBA program and expanding the college’s online graduate business offerings. The college’s MBA program has strengths in insurance and risk management and has historically enrolled professionals from within the insurance industry. Expansion into other fields as well as the development of other graduate-level degrees in business and management are planned.

Position Requirements: Earned doctorate in business-related field will receive priority consideration; ABD, MBA, or master’s degree in a business-related discipline will be considered with significant experience in the relevant industry or disciplinary area.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated successful teaching at the graduate level, preferably in an online environment, and will have significant professional experience. Candidates must indicate a clear commitment to adult professional education and provide evidence of the ability to create positive and engaging course experiences for adult learners. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in academic program innovation and development as well as demonstrated competence working with culturally diverse groups in teaching, scholarship, and/or service. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to develop relationships with industry executives and other leaders in a wide variety of career fields, to include the development or nurturing of advisory committees, with an end goal of creating high-quality graduate programs in business at the college. Position Responsibilities: Along with the leadership and program development responsibilities of the position, the successful candidate will be expected to teach within the college’s online business graduate programs with course releases provided for the administrative responsibilities of the position. Instruction of courses within the undergraduate business program could occur depending upon workload and availability. Olivet faculty are responsible for course delivery and curriculum development, as well as engagement with students in the capacity of mentor and academic advisor. Along with instruction and student engagement, faculty responsibilities include scholarship and service to the college, the discipline or profession, and the larger society. The faculty member will be expected to participate in the academic life of the Business Department and the college.
