The Infrastructure Specialist isresponsible for the installation, maintenance, design, operation anddocumentation of the voice (including analog and VoIP), data, and security infrastructurerooms, telephone installation/configuration and installation/repair of computerhardware. Maintain a current knowledge of industry standards (including EIA/TIAstandards, NEC codes, and HIPAA regulations) and apply these standards to thetelecommunications infrastructure. Research new technology and recommend and/or implement as needed. The Specialistwill also be responsible for the implementation, deployment and support of voice,data, access control, and security cabling infrastructure.
Major Responsibilities:
– Implement, deploy and support voice, data, access control, and security cabling infrastructure
– Coordinate, configure, deploy and support voice over IP technology across CHS Campus and satellite buildings. Use VoIP management tools to maintain and configure new and existing phone devices/lines
– Maintain and support existing analog phone/fax lines, including but not limited to install, move, configuration and removal of lines
– Run voice and data cable for CHS and satellite buildings and appropriate termination and patching of data and voice cables and testing connectivity once cable has been terminated
– Troubleshoot copper and fiber cable issues
– Install, deploy and support video security devices, by appropriately configuring new cameras and assign them to the right groups and DVR’s
– Install, deploy and support physical access devices. Manage physical access user permissions, assign correct groups, appropriate and timely removal of access
– Conduct periodic audits on both the door access and camera management systems to ensure proper configuration, security access and reliability
– Install, configure and support panic buttons throughout the CHS campus and satellite buildings
– Conduct periodic audits on network closets and work with network team and/or physical plant team to address any potential issues found during the audit that could cause damage to the network equipment or cabling
– Conduct periodic inventory or IT closets and voice/data and security equipment and keep updated documentation as well as coordinate rotation of equipment and conduct proper disposal of old equipment
– Installation of communication lines along documented paths and terminate and label according to industry standard specifications
– Construction/demolition/renovation/move/removal/maintenance of new and existing telecommunications rooms and telecommunications pathways
– Research, design, and install new cable trays along new and existing cable pathways
– Work with existing Telecom and ISP vendors to request assistance when issues arise, coordinate moves , new installs or additional services
– Implement new cable paths
– Add, remove, convert, and setup single- and multi-line telephones and telephone lines when requested
– Configure analog telephones and voice mail via SBC/AT&T Plexar Mate program
– Install and maintain telecommunications room switches and uninterruptible power supplies
– Develop and maintain documentation
– Configure and change cameras, Digital Video Recorders, and, camera monitoring software
– Serve as a mentor to Desktop support specialists and other lower level positions to help them learn and develop skills pertaining to VoIP, surveillance and access control systems
– Assist with computer and peripheral device installations and troubleshooting, software installation, and computer/printer configuration
Travelis primarily between campuses or clinical locations in Tulsa and Tahlequah. Other travel may include seminars, trainingsessions, trips to Stillwater for meetings, and support of all OSU affiliatedmedical facilities in the state of Oklahoma. 25% of time spent on this job is devoted to travel.
Environmental Hazards:
Themajority of the work is performed indoors. Occasionally there will be cabling between buildings on campus and frombuildings to poles/outlying termination points. Cable installation does require the use of ladders for reaching cablingroutes above the ceiling. Some work willbe done in manholes, tunnels, on rooftops, and on poles.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 8-10 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Required:
– A minimum of two (2) years college or five (5) years of experienceworking in the telecommunications and technology infrastructure, includingexperience with VoIP
