General Description:
The Nursing Compliance Coordinator works directly with the Nursing Clinical and Lab Director and Nursing Clinical Coordinator for the overall operation/management of nursing compliance. Responsibilities include but are not limited to ensuring faculty and student compliance via the clinical management platform in accordance with program and facility policies. Efficiency and flexibility must be maintained in order meet the needs of the nursing program.
This appointment is contingent upon availability of grant funding which will continue for 5 years. Once the funds from the grant that provide funding for this appointment are no longer available, this appointment may be terminated without cause upon written notice to the employee.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related health field.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Intermediate computer skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office or similar software. Flexible teaching style to accommodate individual learning styles.
Committed to helping students achieve their goals to be successful and attain a college education.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn computer programs used in the department and on campus (such as learning management systems and clinical management platforms).

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to students, patients, faculty, staff, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.This position requires the person to frequently move about the classroom and lab area to assist students and perform the essential functions of the position.This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that frequently involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.This position frequently requires the person to operate a computer, other office equipment and mobile devices to prepare instructional documents, answer email correspondence, and complete other activities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.This position requires the person to frequently use upper and lower body to exert force up to 20 pounds to push, pull, grasp, and/or lift materials or equipment.This position requires the person to perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.This position requires the person to frequently position self to work with classroom and lab equipment to instruct or assist students and patients.

This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
This position’s essential functions are performed in an indoor, classroom, office, and lab area.The person in this position will be exposed to infectious diseases.The person in this position will be required to occasionally function around prisoners, mental patients, or agitated, hostile patients.

Job Duties (Position Specific):

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement):
The Nursing Compliance Coordinator position is responsible to ensure OCCC Nursing Program is in compliance with the accreditation, state, and facilities (hospitals, nursing homes …), by coordinating, imputing, updating, and maintaining all clinical related files. This includes required medical history (i.e. Annual TB, Vaccinations, MMR, N95 fit testing…) on students and faculty as required by the facilities and Nursing Education Service Administration (NESA).
Work with the Nursing Program Director, Nursing Clinical Lab Director, Clinical Coordinator, and Lab Coordinator
Ensure student compliance via the clinical management platform in accordance with program and facility policies.
Create and maintain databases for clinical compliance and tracking.
Ensure faculty clinical compliance via the clinical management platform and faculty files in accordance with program and facility policies
Assist with maintenance and compliance of faculty records to ensure currency in the following areas: Hold an active, unencumbered, license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Oklahoma ꞏ CPR certification Health records as specified by clinical agencies/College ꞏ Background / drug screening as specified by clinical agencies/College ꞏ Faculty Qualification Records ꞏ Curriculum vitae ꞏ Continuing education activities
Assist with the management of clinical rotations for students
Assist with the negotiation of clinical conflicts for clinical sites if needed
Assist with the monitoring of approved and denied clinical sites via the tracking process
Assist with the planning and tracking of clinical site needs for students
Assist with full-time faculty and adjunct setup in the clinical management platform
Assist with clinical site visits to monitor quality assurance for clinical instructors full and part-time
Assist with the modification/adaption/planning of clinical compliance changes for clinical sites
Assist the Nursing Clinical and Lab Director and Clinical Coordinator with updating materials related to clinical requirements.
Set up Nursing Education Service Administration (NESA) exam and add new incoming students to the rotation in the clinical management platform
Attend and actively participate in the NESA Committee meetings
Liaise with facility and agency partners.
Actively participate in service to the college and community in activities such as committees, attend department ceremonies, college commencement, participate in on-campus staff development opportunities and others as may arise.
