The Senior Analyst, Institutional Contracts, Chargebacks and Rebates will support the Innovative Medicines US organization with contract preparation and the accurate and timely administration of discount agreements. This will entail contract authoring research, draft amendments, contract interpretation and system entry; validating membership; rebate payment adjudication. Multiple Openings.
Your Key Responsibilities:
• Process Expert/Lead – Maintain a high degree of contract drafting accuracy. Work closely with operational stakeholders to ensure seamless transition of the contract from inception to implementation. Evaluate and interpret contracts to ensure correct setup of products, pricing, and membership terms. Create and maintain Indirect/Direct membership information in Model N and SAP. Conduct Class of Trade research to support Government Pricing calculations. Serve as subject matter expert for the department and leverage knowledge of system and membership expertise to drive priorities, project development quality/speed, and compliance. Lead and/or coordinate special projects.
• Business Partnering – Support contract strategy feasibility discussions with IM US contract teams. Demonstrate effective prioritization to ensure document turnaround times within agreed-upon timelines. Partner with the Government Pricing team to ensure accurate pricing calculations. Communicate with wholesalers, GPO, LTC, Specialty Groups, HIBCC, IMS, and HRSA to determine member eligibility. Partner with Market Access to support the implementation of new strategies. Work with teams in remote locations both inside and outside the U.S. to achieve department objectives.
• Team Leadership/Meeting Facilitation – Provide expertise and training to analysts within the team to help ensure understanding and alignment of standard operating procedures. Conduct meetings to achieve issue resolution within the department, with internal customers, wholesalers, specialty distributors, LTC, and GPOs. Maintain systems and logs to track contracts, rebate, chargebacks, and membership issues for accurate reporting to management.
• Data Analytics/Super User: Designated resource within department to be the guide on all systems and programs. Provide expertise in testing, troubleshooting, as well as identifying errors and process efficiencies.
• Quality Assurance – Ensure adherence to all standard operating procedures and SOX requirements. Ensure communication to management about identified risks to the department and organization. Identify any areas for improvement and provide useful feedback.
This position will be located at the East Hanover, NJ site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. Please note that this role would not provide relocation and only local candidates will be considered.
Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $84,000.00 and $126,000.00 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. Role Requirements
Essential Requirements:
• BA/BS degree or Equivalent 4-Year degree
• 2+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
• Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
• Demonstrated persistent follow through and ability to juggle shifting priorities with ease
• Superior proof reading and organizational skills; detail oriented
• Ability to work independently, prioritize workload and handle opposing priorities.
• Ability to research and respond to complex customer issues with reasoned judgment
• Strong collaboration, communication and negotiating skills; strong leadership, motivation skills with ability to influence without authority
• Strong project and process management experience; results-oriented ability to deliver under tight deadlines
• Willingness to train and coach others
Desirable Requirements:
• Degree subject area in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related preferred
• Familiarization with contract authoring, chargeback adjudication, rebate processing, membership, and contract maintenance; understanding of pharmaceutical product discount contracts with various healthcare providers; working knowledge of class of trade and customer identifiers preferred a plus
• Proficiency with life science applications such as Model N, Deal Management and/or SAP a plus
