We are seeking a chemical biologist with relevant expertise in target-based assay development and mechanistic characterization of new chemical entities using biochemical and target engagement methods. Expertise in target validation using CRIPSR, SiRNA technologies are desirable. The successful candidate will lead from the bench and will be accountable for the design, execution and interpretation of biochemical assays to support target validation, target-based screening and SAR. An in-depth knowledge of enzyme kinetics and computational data analysis is a plus.
What you will be doing:
• Design, develop, and implement biochemical target-based high-throughput screening assays and SAR-enabling drug discovery assays using diverse assay platforms to support projects from hit identification to clinical candidate selection
• Validate targets through genetic, cellular and chemical approaches.
• Experience characterizing hits to understand the mechanism of target inhibition using standard biochemical assays (e.g. Ki/Kinact, jump dilution assay).
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of scientists as project team representative or leader
• As a core project member or leader, contributes to the design and implementation of drug discovery flow-chart in close collaboration with other groups
• Responsible for biochemical and biophysical characterization of anti-viral or anti-parasitic small molecule inhibitors
• Interpret complex results and provide input to multidisciplinary project teams supporting the discovery and early preclinical development of drug candidates
• Collaborate across disciplines to provide innovative approaches to discovery challenges
• Ensure integrity, quality, and timely delivery of data
