About the role

Reporting to the Global Head of Creative & Digital (C&D) Solutions, with a functional reporting line to the ED, Centralized Asset Services Team (CAST), US Marketing Operations (MO), the Important Safety Information (ISI) Label Update Solution Delivery Lead is a key role within the Creative & Digital capability group. Creative & Digital is part of Global Business Solutions (GBS) an internal business partnering organization, with a focus on business intimacy, transparency and shared accountability.
This position will be responsible for, manage, and optimize a newly formed centralized promotional asset competency service, created by GBS in partnership with the MO function. The ISI Label Update Solution is designed as an “in-house” Center of Excellence for ISI/Label Updates across all US promoted brands, to ensure full compliance on all related assets; and achieve measurable operational efficiencies, quality and cost savings goals. This role will ensure the in-house service can effectively and efficiently establish/update all asset creation/modification capabilities with consistent standards and processes, that are fit for purpose.
The role will be the Solution owner of the end-end process, driving adoption and enabling operational & delivery excellence in the evolving needs of the business. It will function as a strategic partner to the MO Leadership Team and be a key interface for driving ISI/Label Update services operational excellence across Integrated Marketing Operations (IMO), GBS, Holding Companies, and all other related stakeholder parties.
The role will lead co-located (US, India, Mexico, Ireland, etc.) teams to continuously enhance and elevate the ISI/Label CoE services to ensure excellence, consistently and efficiencies. By partnering with GBS and CAST colleagues, it will enable the MO function to operate more strategically, with agility, speed, and execution excellence.
The role will collaborate across GBS and IMO functions, as well as external centralized service partners (i.e.: Holding Company Agencies, other service providers, etc.). As an internal organization, CAST will drive value for our stakeholders, coordinating across the network to support the Novartis mission to improve patients’ lives.

Key responsibilities
•Lead delivery, governance and operations of the centralized ISI Label Update Solution from end-to-end, including active leadership and visioning, planning, implementation and operation, stakeholder and communication management, to ensure it meets time, cost and quality requirements
•Serve as the point of contact for business, interpreting requirements and needs to offer suitable solutions and develop partnership and integrated solutions
•Plan, mobilize and manage cross-functional program teams across divisions and geographical boundaries, including management of resource phasing, solution roles and responsibilities, and establishing a high performance team and environment, to deliver
•Monitor and control execution of program through all phases, to ensure the timely delivery of services and outcomes, managing risks & issues to enhance partnership and trust between IMO and GBS
•As functional lead for CoE Associates, motivate and develop people across locations, demonstrating Novartis values and behaviors, driving positive change and enhancing internal capabilities/skill-sets
•Able to thrive in a complex matrix organization, acting as a voice of discipline and structure, to enable the development and deployment of operational solutions that meet the needs of the business
•Identify, contribute to, champion and embed delivery processes and standards, and Continuous Improvement initiatives across the team
•Ensure clear and effective communications with stakeholders, including (but not limited to) US business stakeholders, MO/GBS senior management, and external Agencies of Record (AoRs)
•Ensure Operational and Performance Metrics and Benchmarks are in place, optimized, achieved and remediation plans are in place and adhered to, while adhering to regulatory and compliance process
•Proactively manage work volume, track progress against agreed timelines, and prioritize resources to meet overall project and solution objectives
•Provide insight and input to optimize the effectiveness of brand ISI/Label Update requests and services, to drive greater agility and flexibility
•Provide financial management and oversight of the team, including performance and productivity, P&L accountability, bottom line operating costs and quality performance
•Lead regulatory and global label team conversations in collaboration with MO on demand forecast and calendar management

This position will be located at the East Hanover, NJ site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. This position will require 10% travel as defined by the business (domestic and/ or international).

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $144,000. and $216,000 year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. •8+ years’ experience Commercial experience in the area of design/marketing/program management within creative /advertising/consulting agencies, In-House Agency or Marketing Department, , including leading and managing service resource/people management/planning across multifunctional teams and complex matrix environments
•Led and implemented Commercial and/or Marketing Operations and respective best practices across the pharmaceutical industry with ability to translate into commercial strategy
•Proven track record to understand regulatory guidelines and implications of brand strategy related to label changes
•Excellent cross-functional skills with the ability to work and lead a cross-functional team in a matrix environment. Strong process/project management skills.
•Excellent presentation, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
•Demonstrate leadership experiences and capabilities including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop, and coach others, and oversee, and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact
•Relevant program management experience in managing large enterprise programs and teams across functions and locations in a matrix structure
•Past work reflects a track record of operational excellence including financial and operational metrics and accountability
