As the Associate Director, Associate Engagement, US Audience & Execution, at Novartis, you play a key role in shaping the employee experience of all 14,000 US associates, supporting them in our curious, inspired and unbossed culture journey and engaging them in our Innovative Medicines US patient-focused strategy to become a top five pharmaceutical company in the US by 2025. You determine how and when we reach associates with our communications.
This individual’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
How do we tell the story? Create the strategy for how we communicate with our associates using current and new channels in ways that have the biggest impact, in partnership with global Assoc. Engagement and in service of US audiences
Who participates in telling the story? Work closely with the larger US AE team to have insight into key stakeholders to make sure their voice is amplified and/or aligned on the best possible channels
How should the story be experienced by associates? Create a segmented audience strategy and corresponding channel mix that reaches employees in the ways they respond to most
Be a key partner to the global Analytics & Insights team to regularly measure impact of content and channels and make results-based recommendations for future areas of focus
Be the point of contact for tactical execution, including managing the distribution and posting of intranet content and broad audience e-mail messages (often time-sensitive), executing when needed and arranging coverage when required
Play a leading role in managing distribution lists, pulling together the right stakeholders (P&O, TT, others) to solve challenges related to targeting and partner with P&O for any new people data technologies
Minimum requirements
What you will bring to this role:
• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work-related expertise, with a concentration in communications, public relations, journalism or change management
• 8+ years of communications experience in a large, matrixed organization or agency setting.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of varied audiences
• Ability to prioritize work for greatest business impact; Completely comfortable saying “no” to low-value, low-impact work
• Tech-minded and creative with the ability to push boundaries as it relates to reaching associates on Novartis channels
• Self-starter with attention to detail
• Ability to take smart risks and learn from mistakes
• Ability to translate channel data into content recommendations for the future
• Strong capability to partner with agencies
• Comfortable to engage with senior leaders throughout IM US and Novartis on Associate Engagement programs
