Essential Job Functions:
1. Verify all applicants’ credentials (degrees, licensure,
board certification, etc) and insure that all necessary documents have been received.
2. Process new applications for faculty
appointments, both full time faculty and clinical preceptors.
3. Maintain a current and up to date faculty database.
4. Send
out all reappointment notices to all COM faculty.
5. Process reappointment applications for all COM faculty.
6. Prepare the
applications/files for Department Chairs to review for Faculty appointment and/or reappointment.
7. Prepare all files for the
bi-monthly Faculty Promotions and Credentials Committee.
8. Record minutes for Faculty Promotions and Credentials
Committee.
9. Send out all application letters and appropriate forms for Faculty appointments as well as send out all reappointment
letters and certificates for appointments to all clinical faculty.
10. Prepare and send out thank you letters and certificates for
closed faculty files.
11. Prepare and distribute updated quarterly Faculty listing.
12. Make and receive phone calls from
Faculty and Preceptors.
13. Responsible for verification of clinical faculty requesting access to the Library Databases.
14.
Design appointment certificate and form for the Credentials Office.
15. Order appreciative incentives for clinical
preceptors.
16. Order stationary for the Credentials Office.
17. Responsible for the designing of the initial certificate for
BGMC.
18. Send out all CME letters to allopathic physicians (MDs) awarding credits.
19. Serve as Banner point person to update
credentials for the Faculty Roster Database.
20. Update Faculty section for the College in the HPD Catalog.
21. Responsible
for the following in the MPH and Biomedical Informatics Programs: Send out application letters and forms for full time and adjunct faculty;
process files for joint or adjunct faculty appointments; verify applicants credentials; prepare files for the appropriate MPH and Biomedical
Informatics Credentialing Committees to review.
22. Ensure that all proper signatures are obtained for all credentialing
documents.
23. Responsible for the design of the initial appointment certificates for MPH and Biomedical Informatics
Programs.
24. Work closely with the Credentials office for the COM medical clinics.
25. Other duties as assigned by the Dean,
the Vice Dean or the Director of Administrative Operations.
