Overall Purpose of Position:
The Training and Development Specialist will assist with the planning, development, implementation and administration of training
programs to ensure continuous learning and career development opportunities for employees. The Training and Development Specialist
will recommend and implement training initiatives based upon organizational learning needs, leadership development programs,
succession planning, and internal knowledge transfer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, or consultations with managers and/or supervisors
* Identify skill gaps between high potential talent for succession planning; leverage gap analysis to determine
learning priorities
* Monitor and track continuing professional education credits, issue course completion certificates, and administer the company
tuition assistance program (review, process, and track training approvals)
* Design and create training manuals, online learning modules, and course materials
* Review training materials from a variety of vendors and choose appropriate materials
* Deliver training to employees using a variety of instructional techniques
* Monitor and evaluate training programs to ensure they are current and effective
* Select and assign internal trainers or vendors to conduct training
* Monitor costs of training, ensuring optimal return on investment
* Utilize the Kirkpatrick Model to ensure training effectiveness
* Manage the HRIS to ensure employee training records are recorded and current
* Create and scale KPIs and goals for training and development which align with the broader business needs and company learning
strategy
* Remain current with changing policies, technologies, and services for training delivery
* Other duties and projects as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
* Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
* Detail oriented and precise with excellent organization skills
* Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to deliver effective training and presentations
at all levels of the organization
* Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to effectively present instructional content
* Strong computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office products, ability to develop instructional content in a variety
of software packages and media tools
* Willingness and ability to travel as required
* Minimum of five (5) years of training and development experience
* Associate’s degree in related field required, Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
