JOB SUMMARY
This
person
provides leadership, advising, program management and oversight for
registered student organizations, the campus programming board,
Homecoming and
the community engagement efforts.
MAJOR DUTIES
Manages registration and
oversight of all registered student organizations.Provides training and development for student organization leaders and
advisors.Facilitates annual registration renewal process.Enforces student organization policies, including travel registration and risk
management.
Advises the Northeastern Activities Board.Provides logistical support for student led campus wide programs and
events.Recruits and trains student leaders.
Advises the Student Homecoming Week Committee.Provides logistical support for events
throughout the Homecoming week.Collaborates with relevant campus partners.
Advise the Big Event student committee. Maintain the
volunteer management system.
Coordinates campus-wide civic engagement efforts, including voter registration and education.
Provides support for the Miss Northeastern State University pageant.
The position requires frequent weekend and evening
hours.
Develop and assess programmatic learning overcomes.
Serves on assigned university committees.
Performs related
duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE
REQUIRED BY THE POSITION

student development theory.

Knowledge of budget management
principles.
Skill in the operation of computers and job related software programs.
Skill in decision making and problem
solving.
Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.

communication.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The supervisor assigns work in terms of general
instructions. The supervisor spot-checks the work as it is
being done and spot-checks the completed work for compliance with
established
procedures, work accuracy and the nature and propriety of the final results of
the
work.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include the Family Education Rights and Privacy
Act and
university policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment,
selection and interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The work consists of varied duties in the
coordination of student led campus activities and programs. Frequent interruptions contribute to the complexity of the position.
The
purpose of this position is to coordinate student organizations and student led campus programming. Success in this position contributes to
a positive campus life experience for students.

Contacts are typically with
co-workers, other university personnel, faculty, staff, students, and members of the general public.
Contacts are typically to give
or exchange information, to resolve problems, to provide services, or to motivate persons.
PHYSICAL
DEMANDS/ WORK
ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed while sitting at a
desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light or heavy objects.
The
work is typically performed in an office and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement
weather.
SUPERVISORY
AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
This
employee may
have direct supervision over assigned student
workers.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree
Sufficient
experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an
apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid
driver’s license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Previous experience in event
planning, advising, and/or student organization management.
Must be capable of maintaining regular
attendance.
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s in Higher Education or
related field preferred.
Annual
salary $37,908.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
