Essential Job Duties:
The Affinity Engagement Manager will report to the Director of Volunteer Engagement and serve as a member of the Alumni Engagement & Annual Giving (AEAG) team. They are responsible for the engagement of and communication with NC State University constituents to include but not limited to alumni and friends. The Engagement Manager leads the planning, management, marketing, implementation and measuring of programming and projects for their assigned constituency. Programming will involve an integrated approach based on best practices and include strategies that foster a sense of community and encourage meaningful participation through dialogue, volunteerism, and philanthropy with the ultimate goal of increasing overall participation and giving among the NC State community. The Engagement Manager serves as a front-line professional managing a portfolio of assigned constituencies to strategically advance the mission and goals of the department.
The Affinity Engagement Manager provides oversight and execution of the affinity-based volunteers for NC State University and the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving department. The affinity-based groups are volunteer-led and actively communicate and conduct annual programming to strengthen bonds with each other and NC State, including (but not limited to) the Black Alumni Society, Latinx Alumni Network, Native American Alumni Network, and the Forever Club of NC State University. The position reports to the Director of Volunteer Engagement and is responsible for recruiting, cultivating, training, supporting, and stewarding regional volunteers. The Engagement Manager will recommend areas for establishing new affinity-based networks based on demand, population, and alignment with NC State University.

Perform other duties as required or assigned. Attend a variety of events throughout the year. Regular travel and occasional night and weekend work is required.
Minimum Experience/Education:
Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in the area of assignment, of which at least one is supervisory or in a lead-worker capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
