NC State University’s Internal Audit Division (IAD) is responsible for risk assessment, auditing, and consulting at NC State University, a Research I land-grant University with revenues of $1.3 billion, over 34,000 students, and almost 9,000 faculty and staff state-wide. The IAD partners with University leadership, the University community, and various University constituents to help NC State achieve its strategic goals and manage risk while ensuring compliance with University policies, rules, and regulations and federal and state requirements. Essential Job Duties |
This is an entry-level, professional Investigative auditing position. The Investigative Auditor focuses primarily on performing investigative audits and advisory/consulting engagements in accordance with the Internal Audit Division’s (IAD) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiner’s Standards, and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards (the “Red Book’ Standards). Engagements may sometimes be integrated, entailing a combination of operational, IT, compliance, and/or financial elements. There is no cyclical work performed; all engagements are risk-based and performed in a fast-paced, agile environment. The successful candidate will be able to apply investigative auditing principles, practices and standards to a range of business operations, financial transactions, IT applications, and academic systems. Additional expectations are that the incumbent will need to draw accurate conclusions from a variety of complex data and preparation and/or presentation of audit issues and other reports in a concise, non-technical way so as to be understood by non-technical stakeholders. |

Minimum Education and Experience |
Requires post-baccalaureate credentials; a bachelor’s degree plus 0-2 years experience may be substituted for the advanced degree on an exceptional basis. |
