The Office of Research and Innovation (ORI) is the lead administrator of the university’s research enterprise. ORI has developed a strategic research ecosystem that empowers NC State’s community to grow, discover and innovate while enriching the human experience and solving society’s most pressing problems. ORI supports, sparks and leads research innovation by operating key shared core facilities, providing seed grants and shaping the university’s research mission through strategic research areas
Essential Job Duties:
As part of NC State’s marketing content team, the marketing writer will take a leadership and advocacy role in writing promotional copy and creating innovative concepts and deliverables that help the university achieve its strategic goals. The position is based within University Communications and Marketing and shared with the Office of Research and Innovation.
For both units, the writer develops, writes and produces content that includes web copy, advertising copy, long-form feature writing (including popular science writing) and more, with a focus on digital marketing. The writer serves on broader teams of designers, developers and other experts to guide the direction of marketing communications at NC State.

Minimum Experience/Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
