Status: Full Time, Exempt

The Leader, Medicare Stars is accountable for helping to develop, implement and monitor outcomes of the Quality strategy to improve performance on all Medicare Stars measures.

The Leader, Medicare Stars is responsible:

• for building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships across all departments.
• to achieve year over year improvement of clinical outcomes and 5-Star goals.
• for assembling and leading the internal, cross-functional, enterprise-wide Stars team; maintaining the workplan, assigning and monitoring work of team members and providing guidance and leadership
• Partnering with internal teams and associated external vendor partners to ensure programs are achieving KPIs and performance goals.
• Analyze data to identify insights and opportunities for performance improvements, assess effectiveness of interventions and deliver actionable recommendations for performance improvement.

• Evaluate efficacy of Medicare Stars programs using qualitative and quantitative analysis from all available sources.
• Dive deep into nuances of Stars performance across different markets and help develop strategies and programs to match those needs.
• Drive goal setting across all contracts and help prioritize when interventions are required
• Manage programs and interventions from initiation through delivery and monitors for continuous improvement.
• Participates cross-functionally in business planning to support business unit strategy.
• Assist in the planning and direction of budgets supporting Medicare.
• Knowledge of company products, functions, marketing and/or service policies and procedures to ensure compliance and alignment with Corporate strategic goals.
• Serve as a quality expert with internal constituents to drive Star-related program development and outcomes success.
• Educate and work with external partners and participating provider practices as needed to identify innovation opportunities and adopt Star-related improvement actions.
• Supporting Quality VP/Senior Director/Director in developing and implementing strategies to drive the organization to be a 5-star plan.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in health care, business or related field and 3+ years’ experience with Medicare Stars and Quality programs.

Minimum Experience:

3+ years’ experience leading a Medicare Stars program with a Health Plan/MCO.

Prior experience leading a team, or program supporting Medicare Stars.

Project Management experience is highly preferred.

Technical and analytics experience is highly preferred.

Required Skills:

• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Teams)
• Demonstrated experience with implementation, execution and monitoring performance against a strategic goal and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills are required.
• Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving, and time management skills are required.
• Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and work independently and collaboratively.
• Demonstrated experience leading a team, project or initiative using industry standard tools with quantifiable outcomes.
• Experience developing, mentoring and fostering team growth and succession planning.
