WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Researches and renews insurance products and services while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Reviews, analyzes, researches, and interprets current, proposed, and newly adopted laws and regulations to determine impact to the business and provides recommendations on adherence.
• Coordinates the distribution of compliance-related documents and/or activities to appropriate area. Monitors responses to ensure areas take appropriate actions within the effective date/timeframe. Identifies potential implementation and/or interpretation inconsistencies and notifies appropriate management. Develops resolutions on compliance-related issues and process inconsistencies and ensures timely implementation.
• Coordinates and conducts annual audits on compliance processes based on the requirements of the Compliance Audit Program. Follows up on inconsistencies or issues, provides recommendations for resolution, and ensures timely adherence.
• Conducts research, analysis, interpretation, and application of new and existing state insurance laws and regulations, federal laws and regulations impacting insurance, product specifications, and operating procedures.
• May develop and execute contract agreements, compensation arrangements, and administrative policies and procedures.
• May utilize appropriate systems and apply corporate guidelines to facilitate the contracting, licensing, and appointment process.
• Remains abreast of general legislative and regulatory trends and pertinent federal/state legislation affecting sales producer handling. Reviews and provides responses regarding the impact of proposed legislation on the Company’s products.

ABOUT YOU:

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

• Ability to work independently and handle multiple and diverse complex assignments/projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of personal computers and software applications.
• Strong keyboarding and data entry skills.
• Considerable knowledge of insurance laws, federal and state government laws/regulations
• Strong knowledge and background in the interpretation of legislation.
• Considerable knowledge of individual life and health products, group products and related services to include industry and regulatory-related issues.
• Strong planning, organization, and decision-making skills.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical ability and judgement.

VALUABLE EXPERIENCE:

• Background in Claims strongly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of Company operations and the ability to recognize those areas affected by laws and regulations.
• May require eligibility to be bonded and remain bonded.
• May require advanced knowledge of NASD licensing procedures, rules and regulations.
• May require ability to attain NASD Series 6/63 registration with three months of entry into job and NASD Series 26 with six months
• May require ability to attain NASD Series 51 or 53 and 65 or 66 within 12 months of entry into job
• May require ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
