Department Overview:
Public Relations & Marketing Communications Department is focused on creating a positive image and building relationships with the organization’s various stakeholders. Public Relations lays the groundwork for Marketing, which focuses on reaching customers and companies to increase revenue. The organization’s positive image is critical for attracting consumers to donate, sponsor, and engage. Public Relations collaborates closely with Marketing to align on messaging for all communications, with Public Relations being very distinctive with focus on engaging with media to drive third-party insights about the organization’s work.
Position Description:
The Senior Manager, Communications collaborates with stakeholders across the organization as it relates to mission-driven Public Relations and Communications responsibilities targeted toward key areas for reputation management. This includes Awards, Conferences, Charity Ratings, Award submissions, Employer Brand enhancement, and the development of a communications plan to integrate the awards throughout the brand for enhanced reputation.
This role supports MDA’s values, mission, strategic goals, policy decisions and brand. The Senior Manager, Communications is a successful leader who will work collaboratively with the Vice President, Public Relations to lead, develop, and manage annual speaking engagements and bookings for conference panels. This person will track deadlines for submissions for charity ratings sites in partnership with finance, create a cadence of communications to amplify awards in collaboration with marketing, and focus on enhancing MDA’s external reputation for key stakeholders from families to sponsors to health industry. The Senior Manager, Communications helps Healthcare Services to coordinate, support, and manage outbound email messaging across the organization to ensure a steady but not overwhelming cadence of information to families and other stakeholder communities.
This role will include a focus on employer brand reputation and amplification. This person will collaborate with Human Resources to monitor messaging on job sites for reputation management, amplify leadership staff achievements with “On the Road” series for employee reputation, recruitment, and retention. The Senior Manager, Communications will create a strategic plan with Human Resources to get to “best workplace” opportunities in media. The Senior Manager, Communications reports directly to the Vice President, Public Relations.
What you’ll do:
Salary Range:
This position’s salary range is $75,000 – $85,000. Final offer amounts and levels are established by multiple factors, including your experience, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
