Typical Duties
1. Provide leadership for modifications to the curriculum to ensure quality course documents and appropriate rigor to ensure articulation, transfer, and alignment with industry standards.
2. Develop and manage the curriculum change processes.
3. Manage statewide articulation through the AZ Transfer network and systems.
4. Provide effective and engaging professional development on instruction, curricular design, and assessment design to assist in the development of quality curriculum and assessment programs.
5. Provide workshops and training documents for faculty and staff on procedures and policies related to curriculum development and articulation.
6. In concert with the Curriculum Committee, the Academic Standards Committee, and the Institutional Effectiveness Network Pillar Four workgroup, provided guidance to assist in developing policies and procedures for curriculum-related programmatic matters: Serve as a liaison and resource to all three committees. Serve as co-chair of the Curriculum Committee.
7. Assist faculty and advisors in the review of articulation issues.
8. Maintain involvement in proposed curriculum changes. Apprise others on design, credit, and articulation issues.
9. Collaborate with Arizona universities and community colleges to identify courses that could be a Shared Unique Number (SUN) course.
10. Review ATF reports submitted by ATF representatives in order to develop and implement long and short-range plans and objectives related to curriculum and state-wide changes.
11. Provide Arizona Transfer with ATF reports regarding the common course matrix, exam matrix, curriculum planning, and CEG changes. Monitor Arizona Transfer website for the accuracy of the current course equivalency and exam matrix and request the appropriate changes with AZTransfer.
12. Perform the role of college’s Course Equivalency Guide specialist and represent the college at statewide meetings.
13. Develop assessment processes and procedures that establish an assessment system both in academic and non-academic areas of the college.
14. Prepare annual goals and conduct a variety of quantitative and qualitative assessment mechanisms to support college-wide assessment.
15. Present important developments in assessment throughout higher education through a variety of channels, including CTL workshops and college website.
16. Collaborate with the Learning and Development Manager, instructional and non-instructional managers in planning, developing, maintaining, and conducting effective assessment activities.
17. Evaluate the application of assessment in classrooms and other college areas as a means of supporting the revision of assessment practices.
18. Provide coaching and advising of faculty and staff in the documentation of learning accomplishments (curricular and co-curricular assessment).
19. Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of department staff; work with staff to assign responsibilities and determine priorities and procedures.
20. Serve on assigned committees as either a chair or member, complying with reporting deadlines, implementing approved strategies, scripting and posting proceedings and/or ensuring proceedings are completed and posted in a timely manner as needed.
21. Assist the instructional deans in preparing curriculum and related agenda items to be presented to in college committee meetings as necessary.
22. Serve as a liaison between internal departments regarding articulation, such as transfer equivalence of courses, programs, degrees and certificates, and advising.
