Work Schedule/Hours/Days: Office working conditions with some regional and state travel required. Due the nature of the work associated with this role, work hours may include weekend and/or evenings. The Assistant Veterans Resource Directors work schedule must be coordinated to cover requirements and/or events outside normal business hours Monday through Friday (0800-1700 hours) and, when necessary, weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
Posting Details: This position is covered under the Minnesota State University Association of Administrative & Service Faculty (MSUAASF)union contract. Position falls under Range C. Salary is pro-rated based on FTE.

Job Description:
Minnesota State University Moorhead has received the Department of Education (DOE) grant to fund our Yellow Ribbon Student Success Center. The funding amount awarded is $453,424 to be implemented over a period of three years (FY2022-2025). The purpose of the Assistant Veterans Resources Outreach Director position is to provide leadership over this grant which will include implementation of the project goals, maintaining grant compliance with reports, technical trainings, attending mandatory conferences, and working collaboratively with the program manager from the Department of Education.
The Assistant Director is also responsible for providing support to managing the project budget, marketing the program, implementing MSUM Yellow Ribbon Strategic Plan, and leveraging various strategies to recruit and retain military veterans and military connected family members. This role will report to the Veterans Resources Outreach Director (VROD).
The MSUM Assistant Veterans Resources Outreach Director works in collaboration with the VROD to direct, plan, and organize all veterans’ services initiatives and to ensure that the university’s vision, goals, and objectives are being met to become the preferred choice for higher education for active and retired military-connected individuals.
Building upon MSUM’s current Veterans Resource Center, establish a Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success as the single point of contact coordinating comprehensive support services for veteran and military-connected students. Serves as the Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success Outreach Director, overseeing the development and maintaining of healthy relationships with campus, community, military, government, and corporate partners, overseeing and implementing the MSUM Yellow Ribbon Strategic Plan. The Assistant Director will assist with monitoring the strategies and interventions of the program for increased enrollment, retention, graduation, and employment placements.
