Vieau School is actively recruiting licensed and experienced candidates for an early childhood special education teaching position providing academic and behavioral support to students in a self-contained and/or bridging unit.
A Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) teacher provides an instructional program for special education students which is appropriate to their educational needs and developmental level. The educational program is offered in an equitable, multi-cultural setting and teaches all children to think deeply, critically and creatively. The teacher’s work supports the MPS strategic plan.
Interested applicants should complete all sections of the application including the online submission of a current resume. Pending graduates should include a letter from their educational institution documenting that they have met the requirements for graduation and teacher certification.
At the time of hire, the selected candidate will need to submit three (3) letters of recommendation dated within the last year and signed by the author and official transcripts conferring his/her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree, if applicable.
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be currently licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction to teach this specific grade level and/or content area or have the ability to obtain the required license by the start of the 2022-23 school year.
As of November 1, 2021, all MPS employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The health and safety of our staff and students is our number one priority.
The Milwaukee Public Schools does not discriminate in its programs, activities, facilities, employment, or educational opportunities on the basis of a person’s sex, race, age, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, or disability.
