Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Counseling is accepting applications for two (2) Temporary, part-time instructor responsible for counseling and psychotherapy, crisis intervention, outreach, and consultation (and related documentation) in a University Counseling Center setting. These 2 positions will include 10 clinical hours and a total of 18.75 hours each with flexible scheduling.
Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications as well as aligned with the details contained in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Millersville University Promotion Statement.

Job Description
TEACHING AND PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The psychologist/faculty member is to provide skilled, confidential counseling and psychotherapy with students who face problems of a personal, social, educational, or developmental nature. The position requires a counseling generalist with excellent interpersonal skills who will provide time-limited individual, group and couples counseling and psychotherapy.
This position requires in-person instruction on Millersville University’s campus.

CONTINUING SCHOLARLY GROWTH AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT and SERVICE TO THE UNIVERSITY AND/OR COMMUNITY:
In addition to teaching, there is an expectation for scholarship and service commensurate with the assignment.
The Psychologist/faculty will pursue scholarly growth on an ongoing basis, both within and outside the subject discipline, in the academic profession. The psychologist/faculty will seek/maintain appropriate license (e.g., Psychologist) to serve as a clinical professional in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The psychologist/faculty will seek to evaluate the effectiveness of counseling services and develop a scholarly agenda that will inform and enrich their clinical work.
The Psychologist/Faculty will provide service on an ongoing basis by contributing professionally to department and university governance outside the classroom for the university, professional community, and community at large, in a participatory, developmental, or advisory capacity. The psychologist/faculty will participate in Departmental meetings and engage in the development and implementation of Center policy and procedure, staff development, and evaluation of program effectiveness. In addition, the Psychologist/Faculty may be asked to serve on committees within the Department, Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, the University, and/or in the community at large that are relevant to the goals and activities of the Department of Counseling and Human Development.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other reasonable duties assigned within the faculty member’s field of competence.These may include but are not limited to: Supervise interns, practicum students and graduate assistants.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: The Department of Counseling & Human Development is in the Division of Student Affairs and is considered a Non-School department. The department is comprised of faculty and support staff and offers mental health services to Millersville University students including psychotherapy, consultation, crisis intervention and outreach.
