Job Summary
Academic instructor to meet the varied instructional needs of the Fort Stockton WRTTC branch campus, with ability to instruct in multiple academic and/or technical areas.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in one of the following academic instructional areas: Economics, English, Government, or History
Understanding of how internet based instructional software and computer technology works
Ability to plan, organize, and instruct in quality educational programs
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree or 18 graduate hours in one of the following secondary academic instructional areas: Economics, English, Government, or History
Experience teaching community college level courses
Experience in dual credit instruction
Essential Functions
Prepare course outline and syllabus, develop course and lesson plans, engage in the selection of textbook and other teaching aids
Teach using lectures, demonstrations, class discussion, and other appropriate modes
Lead and monitor classroom instruction
Participate in co-curricular activities such as campus committees
Serve as academic advisor to students and be available to faculty and students for consultation
Foster education for service by contributing professionally to governance outside the classroom for the WRTTC and community at large
Plan learning activities and use teaching methods designed for a variety of learning styles
Assist with maintaining a classroom/laboratory/shop environment emphasizing safety, good housekeeping, and equipment security
Use course text, outlines, syllabi, and other curriculum materials in accordance with college and department guidelines
Participate in professional development activities
Communicate regularly and professionally with Academic Deans
Participate in televised distance learning, dual credit, and internet based curriculum development and instruction, when needed
Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
Frequently moves equipment or paperwork weighing up to 20 pounds
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
Use of manual dexterity
Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
The person in this position frequently communicates with students; must be able to exchange accurate information
The person in this position needs to occasionally move/drive from office to other locations on and off campus

Min Salary: $49,882 per year
Max Salary: $60,969 per year
Pay Statement
Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
