Title: Mental Health Consultant – CAHC

$63,440 – $91,208 / Posted Thru: 6-2-24

Location: Remote/Virtual – Must Live and Work in Michigan

Purpose: The Mental Health Consultant – CAHC position will serve dual roles within the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ Child & Adolescent Health Center Program. The consultant will be responsible for providing mental health technical assistance, expertise, and best practice support to both the Clinical Model and Expanding, Enhancing Emotional Health Model (E3) as well as administrative/programming support to E3. The consultant, as part of the MDHHS CAHC Program team, works to ensure the provision of the best possible services for children and families in Michigan. This position will also be involved in a new mental health expansion in schools throughout Michigan.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• In conjunction with the E3 Coordinator, provide technical assistance with mental health and program support to the E3 program sites and providers.
• Provide mental health technical assistance to both the field and the CAHC team.
• Assist with the development of program requirements for the E3 sites.
• Assist with developing/revising program reporting for the E3 sites.
• Assist with the development of mental health resources, documents, and guidance for both models.
• Serve as a liaison between the MDHHS and funded programs.
• Monitor program reports quarterly in multiple systems.
• Review annual grant plans and budgets for feasibility.
• Perform site reviews to assure program requirements are being met.
• Works on special projects as needed.
• Serves on the CAHC MDHHS team, attends team meetings, and participates in inter and intra departmental workgroups as needed.
• Always represent the best interests in MDHHS and MPHI.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education: A master’s degree in Social Work or related field required.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in mental health.

Important Skills and Characteristics:

• School mental health experience.
• Knowledge of adolescent and school health issues.
• Experience working with schools.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues.
• Ability to interpret minimum program requirements.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Standard office environment. May require valid vehicle operator’s license where needed to perform duties of the position.

IMPACT ON PROJECTS, SERVICES AND OPERATIONS: This person is a key member of the team and is responsible mental health technical assistance to both the team and the field. This person also ensures that the needs of the staff and clients are met in a timely manner, maintains professional relationships, and enhances potential future contracts with clients.
