Acting Chair & Professor
Job Summary:
Acting Chair of the Department of Educational Psychology to serve as a visionary, collaborative, and creative leader and part of the leadership team of the College. The acting chair is responsible for the planning and administration of a department consisting of approximately 20 faculty and a number of assigned staff. Responsibilities of the chair include, but are not limited to: Providing visionary leadership to advance a culture of collaboration, transparency, and excellence in line with College’s goals and the University’s strategic plan; Enhancing social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusive excellence among faculty, staff, and students in the department; Managing and developing the financial, human, and facility resources necessary to accomplish the mission of the department; Working with faculty to enhance and expand the academic portfolio of the department at the undergraduate and graduate level; Supporting and promoting faculty and student research, including growing the department’s external funding profile; Promoting efforts to improve recruitment and retain students, faculty, and staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. [or doctorate] in related field within the department of Educational Psychology. Awarded tenure at Miami with a current appointment as Full Professor in Educational Psychology. Established record of teaching, research and service.
