Job Summary
The HVAC Mechanic V performs skilled technical and mechanical work. The HVAC Mechanic V position performs responsibilities under the direction and supervision of the HVAC Chief and guidance of the Zone Supervisor in accordance with the standard practices of the HVAC trade.
Duties & Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and proceduresA comprehensive and thorough knowledge of trade tools and of occupational hazards, safety precautions, local codes, and regulations pertaining to the trades is essentialKnowledge and understanding of the basic fundamentals of air filtration, indoor air quality, direct digital controls (DDC) and electrical controls diagramsAbility to plan, assign, review, supervise, and inspect the work of others, schedule facilities and staff, and coordinate work with other tradesAbility to read and write and understand oral and written instructionsAbility to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situationsAbility to follow instructions relating to work assignments that may be oral or written, and may be accompanied by sketches or blueprintsAbility to use electronic mail, web based trouble report systems, and PDA based C.M.M.S software Ability to travel in county, work any shift including evenings, weekends and holidays, perform on-call and respond to after hour emergencies
