Job Summary
The Alumni Manager works collaboratively to manage and execute the national alumni program for small business owners who have graduated the program in their market. The position provides continued business education to help graduates grow their businesses, create a community of active alumni through meaningful engagement, and to capture and elevate the impact of the program through data, storytelling, and thought leadership opportunities. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.
This is a temporary grant funded position through November 30 year 2023 contingent upon grantor funding and grant extensions.
This grant position will be eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) after 6 consecutive months of continuous employment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and proceduresPossess strong communication and interpersonal skills Possess strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with alumni, program staff/faculty, and community partnersPossess strong understanding of and sensitivity to cultural differences across a wide range of stakeholders and successful experience communicating and collaborating in a diverse setting Knowledge of event promotion and marketing experience Possess strong time management skills, a customer service orientation, and high attention to detailKnowledge with teaching or facilitating educational sessions in-person and/or online especially business educational programs is preferred.Knowledge of the local region’s small business and economic development landscape is strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience managing multiple tasks/projects at a time while maintaining high attention to detail. Possesses a “growth mindset” and is open to new ideas and ways of working from all members of the program. Ability to work independently to solve problems; looks for opportunities to take on responsibility; takes thoughtful risks; and effectively acts on new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain positive resultsAbility to anticipate and effectively handle change; demonstrates willingness to try new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditionsDemonstrated experience with and strong comfortability with technology including proficient computer skills and proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPointAbility to work a flexible schedule which may include evening and weekend assignments
