YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE
We are looking for a Payroll Manager in 401 N Michigan Ave, Suite 1400, Chicago, IL 60611 USA. Your mission will be to:
Purpose (Objective):To consistently deliver a timely,
accurate and secure payroll process to our Merieux NutriScience North American
Region. The Payroll
Manager will lead and manage
the payroll processing for both the U.S. and Canada on a bi-weekly basis. The
Payroll Manager collaborates closely with Human Resources on compliance and
business initiatives, and partners with the Finance team in ensuring proper
recording and cut-off of accounting for labor expenses and accruals. The
Payroll Manager is a subject matter expert with deep functional knowledge of
payroll, and payroll tax. This position will be responsible for developing and
implementing guidelines for the department related to goals, initiatives,
efficiency, accuracy, timeliness, project management, service level expectations
and streamlining procedures. This position will have a high degree of integrity
in all aspects of work along with the leadership traits that serve to guide and
motivate the team in a department
Main activities:
*Manages and oversees the time and attendance and payroll processes to ensure the accuracy and timely processing of all employees in accordance with company policy and federal/state regulations.
*Ensure that the Human Resources and Payroll department work together to validate that employees’ are paid in accordance with company policy.
*Working with HR, IT, Legal, Corporate, and Finance to help create best business practices.
*Managing the full-cycle of Payroll activities each pay period for both US and Canada payroll. (Corrections, LOA, Terminations, Bonuses, garnishments, etc)
*Implement and administer the data integrity of the payroll system.
*Partner with HR and IT to ensure systems are appropriately setup and updated to reflect current employee data, including wages, benefits, Sick and Vacation time.
*Maintaining relationships with outside vendors and collaborating with HR and IT in resolving system issues.
*Provide customer service to resolve and respond to any payroll questions or issues from employees and managers
*Provide guidance and communicate actively with Operating Units, HR and Accounting to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing issues and/or reports.
*Reconcile the payroll accounts and summarize payroll related expenditures by resolving payroll discrepancies and prepare the corrections to be processed.
*Manages all tax compliance topics related to payroll matters.
At any time, the incumbent must behave and operate in
an ethical and Code of Conduct compliant manner.

Internal Interlocutors: Employees, HR, IT.
External Interlocutors: Vendors, Auditors, Tax Authorities
YOUR PROFILE
Knowledge:
Profile (required education/qualification and professional background):
*4 year Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or similar field
Required Skills:
*6 Year minimum of Payroll software experience (Ceridian experience is a plus)
*Proficient in the application of local Payroll laws
*Effective communication (written and oral) skills
*Positive Attitude – Change agent
Management:
*Ability to effectively manage staff, currently a headcount of 1
*Ability to prioritize tasks
*Deadline and Detailed Oriented
*Ability to have a process improvement mindset and be able to continuously improve process.
Work Environment: The incumbent works in an office environment with proper temperature and light control. This position can expect extended times working at a computer where physical dexterity is required. Fast pace environment with quick turnaround expectations for internal customer requests. Work policy currently is 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
