Merced College is a midsized community college located in California’s Central Valley. The Maintenance Mechanic is involved in the operations, maintenance and repair of the District’s facilities. This position performs a variety of skilled activities related to installation, modification, maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic performs tasks such as assisting in wiring of new or altered buildings, preventative maintenance of HVAC equipment, service and repairs locksets and cuts keys; including inspection and repairs to mechanical and plumbing operations. The Maintenance Mechanic also works with and assists a dedicated team of other skilled trades that includes Carpenters, Electricians, Painter and HVAC Technicians. The Maintenance Mechanic is a valuable member of Merced College’s Capital Projects and Facilities Department and holds a critical role in maintaining a safe and innovative environment for our staff and students.
