Mendocino-Lake Community College District is currently accepting
applications for a Instructional Technology Specialist.
This is a full-time, Classified position. We are seeking an equity-minded

Under direction of the Head Librarian and supervision of the applicable Dean, provides support to the
students using computers in the library; maintains and supports the equipment of the library and software used for all aspects of
instructional technology and related technology support systems such as library automation; assists students and staff with electronic
research tools, the automated catalog; and the distance education LMS; and provides instructional technical support, and other computer and
software assistance as needed.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary
Range (28): The monthly salary range is $4,789 – $5,028. There are six annual step movements; initial placement will be at step 1, unless
approved by the Superintendent/President.

Benefits: With no monthly premium contribution from the employee, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that
includes family medical, dental, vision, EAP benefits and employee life insurance. Additional voluntary life insurance is available for
employee purchase. Benefits are effective the first of the month following hire date.
Holidays and Paid Time Off: The successful
candidate will earn twelve (12) days of vacation and twelve (12) days of sick leave per year. Vacation leave increases with the length of
service. There are twenty (20) paid holidays annually.
Retirement: This position is eligible for CalPERS
Retirement.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
The successful candidate will support student and
institutional success by executing the following duties:
Learns technical aspects of library operations, including library
procedures for circulation, cataloging, serials management, inventory and acquisitions, and their relationship to the library automation
system, the college network, Microsoft applications, and the needs of campus users;
Works cooperatively with IT to maintain and
support computer equipment, and software related to the library’s automated system, databases, and internet connectivity; maintains and
provides input on computers and peripheral equipment;
Works with the Head Librarian to plan, organize, and conduct the annual
library book inventory using the automated system and to implement existing library technology, update, select new equipment and software,
and plan future directions for technological development;
Assists and monitors students using the library’s computers; responds to
questions regarding proper operation and use of computer hardware and software, and research methods utilizing the library’s online catalog
and electronic databases, eBooks, as well as use of Canvas, MyMendo and other relevant technology;
Available as needed for backup
coverage at circulation desk, to be superseded by technological support functions;
Tracks and compiles library statistics related to
use of the library’s automated catalog and electronic databases, assisting in the preparation of monthly and yearly reports for program
review;
Has sufficient training in the college LMS to Provide distance education technical support for students and faculty, and
coordinates with the Distance Education director to respond to help requests through the LMS;
Maintains library
website;
Supports faculty in using instructional technology related to distance education, including Zoom carts and laptops for
classroom use;
Maintains laptop carts and their calendars;
Provides technical support for student user accounts, including
passwords, Canvas access, and wifi onboarding;
Attends meetings, workshops, and training sessions as directed; performs related
duties for the library as assigned by the Head Librarian;
Works directly with students and staff to offer district-wide support for
library services;
Operates a variety of office equipment, including PC and Macintosh computers and related software, scanner,
bar-code reader, calculator, copier, and other equipment and technologies specific to the library program;
Performs other related
duties as assigned by supervisor.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office environment; subject to interruptions and
distractions; subject to working evening hours; working with books and equipment which requires lifting up to 25 pounds. Physical demands
include sitting, standing, reaching, bending, walking and lifting.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet
