Position Summary The Human Resource Director is responsible for overseeing and performing multiple HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the managers and staff. A good candidate will oversee recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, leaves of absences, employee relations, performance management, policy implementation, and employment law compliance. They will also often be called upon to perform essential duties in this fast-paced and flexible start-up company.Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of seven to nine (7-9) years of experience in Human Resources.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Familiarity with multi state compliance strongly preferred. Duties and Responsibilities: As a key member of the leadership team reporting to the CEO: * Build and oversee all aspects of the HR function in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. * Partner with senior leadership and managers to provide guidance and coaching on recruiting and retention, compensation, organizational structure, change management, employee relations, training and development, performance evaluation and HR policy development and implementation. * Work closely with internal and external recruiters to identify and attract outstanding candidates across all functional areas; help manage the process of recruiting, evaluating, formulating offers, closing and hiring candidates; serve as key liaison to prospective employees. * Refine and manage employee onboarding process. * Provide guidance / coaching to all employees in regard to general employee relations matters; conflict resolution; leadership development; and career growth. * Review, revise, negotiate and administer comprehensive range of employee benefits programs; manage broker and vendor relationships and ensure competitive features and rates. * Provide guidance and input to payroll processes. * Evaluate procedures and technology solution to improve human resources data management. * Shape company culture with policies, practices and recommendations to accomplish company goals. * Oversee employment law compliance and manage risk; consult with / manage outside employment counsel as necessary. * Investigate reports of concern and make recommendations regarding appropriate resolution * Manage disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans * Develop and oversee all training and development programs. Conduct in person and virtual trainings for staff * Be knowledgeable about our business, markets, products, customers, competitive advantages, team, and culture. Job requirements: Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent A minimum of 7-9 years of progressively responsible, related experience. Ability to provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes productivity standards, goal attainment, and professional culture Experience in venture-backed startup environment; commitment to change and ability to lead organization in this climate. Hands-on self-starter, highly motivated, strong work ethic, willing to work autonomously and as a member of a team in a fast-paced, rapidly growing, entrepreneurial environment. Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle a wide range of tasks and re-prioritize them on short notice. Must possess considerable knowledge of management-staff relations. Experience with labor laws across multi-states. Must possess general knowledge of laws and regulations relating to insurance and safety administration. Must be able to conduct thorough documented investigations and make recommendations on disciplinary actions and terminations.
