Purpose
In the role of Associate Department Administrator – Operations in the Department of Otolaryngology and Communications Sciences you will assist in the direction of the administrative and operational activities of a clinical department with diversified and complex programs in the areas of teaching, research, and clinical services. These activities include all operational and human resources needed to carry out the departmental goals effectively and efficiently. Work to ensure that the Department has sufficient resources and the appropriate operating environment to recruit and retain the highest quality faculty and staff. Organize departmental support functions and work to ensure the flow of high-quality management information and the smooth execution of work. Continuously seek to improve compliance with regulatory and internal policies, departmental resources, and efficacy of administrative services.

Understanding of financial and human resources related issues. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong critical thinking, problem solving and attentiveness to detail required. Strong computer skills. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree
Minimum Required Experience: 10 years
Preferred Education: Master’s degree
Preferred Experience: Progressively responsible experience in office management with supervisory and budget management responsibilities. Experience in a medical, research, or educational environment.
