McKesson Corporation is seeking a Project Manager to drive critical projects lead by the CoverMyMeds Human Resources team that are necessary to execute on the business strategy and deliver value to the organization.
Position Overview
The Project Manager will play a vital role in driving critical business projects for the CoverMyMeds Human Resources team. This role is responsible for the development and implementation of projects, programs and initiatives involving the HR department as well as cross-functional teams across the business. This individual will lead the delivery of a project or initiative from the design process through a finished state to achieve agreed upon outcomes and complete implementation to include: scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resources. The individual project manager will interface with all areas affected by the project or initiative, which may include HR Leadership team members, other business unit HR team members, HR Shared Services and Centers of Excellence, other functions and departments within the business or across the enterprise. The role is responsible for defining and gaining agreement on the project scope and objectives that will be measured. Oversees and coordinates all aspects of the project or initiative.
This role plans and directs schedules, milestones, and due dates. The individual is responsible for monitoring the project/initiative from initiation through delivery. The project manager assesses project issues, develops resolutions to meet the objectives and gains support and alignment from key stakeholders. The individual will develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, budgets, and status reports. They will lead and conduct project meetings and own responsibility for project deliverables. The individual will recommend and take the action necessary to direct the analysis of and solution to problems.
The ideal candidate will have strong working experience in Human Resources, possess strong business acumen, with proven project management leadership within critical business functions, leading large projects across multiple functions or departments. This individual will interface with executives and must have the ability to prepare and present proposals as well as influence without authority. The individual must be able to navigate the complex organizational structure of McKesson and have demonstrated strong leadership skills. An execution orientation is vital to success at McKesson.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership of multi-project work streams created to support the growth of CoverMyMeds and its employees
Leverage technology solutions to track progress, accelerate outcomes, improve collaboration, drive communication and integrate work across teams
Lead complex and critical projects led by the HR function that have impact across the function of HR and the business unit
Monitors monthly performance against project/program roadmap and develops plans for corrective action when needed.
Responsible for and provides oversight for day-to-day program issues. Involves team members as needed to resolve all issues within reasonable time frames and escalates issues to the team leader as necessary.
Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
Communicating with executives to keep the project aligned with their goals
Strong collaboration with stakeholders and partners to enable speed and alignment (Lead matrix project teams, influence leaders within HR, Shared Services, other functions across the business as well as key executives
Engage organization “champions” to provide input to projects and support communication and implementation of any changes
Typical Minimum Experience
7+ years of relevant HR project management experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent concentration/experience
MBA preferred
PMP Certification a plus
Six Sigma Certification a plus
Critical Skills
Thorough knowledge and proven expertise in project management methodologies and best practices
Experience in Human Resources
Self-starter with a drive to continuously improve processes, drive results and remove inefficiencies
Powerful oral, written and presentation capabilities adapted to clearly and concisely communicate to executive, business, and technology audiences

Highly proficient with excel, project templates and tools, as well as project management processes
Additional Knowledge & Skills Preferred
Proven experience leading cross functional, high impact, projects and initiatives
Knowledge of various project management methodologies (e.g., agile/scrum)

In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
$95,600 – $159,400
