RESEARCH INTEGRITY COMPLIANCE ADMINISTRATOR, Office of the Vice President for
Research, to assist the director of research integrity and compliance in conducting reviews of allegations of possible misconduct in
research (falsification, fabrication, or plagiarism) by members of the MIT community and promote best practices in research. The work
involves highly confidential reviews of potential violations of MIT policy and federal regulations by MIT faculty/staff/students.
Responsibilities include receipt/intake of research misconduct allegations; sequestering research records; creating and maintaining chain of
custody evidence logs; assisting the director with assessment, inquiry, and investigation activities arising out of allegations in
accordance with federal regulations and MIT policy; preparing summaries and drafting templates/correspondence/documentation; scheduling and
attending interviews; coordinating to ensure that research is consistent with federal/state/local/institutional requirements and assisting
with implementation of corrective action plans; and researching and developing proactive approaches to promote best research practices and
prevent research misconduct or other research non-compliance issues from recurring.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree and
three years’ direct/related experience in higher education, business, or research environment. PREFERRED: master’s, doctorate, JD,
or paralegal certificate; in-depth knowledge of federal research misconduct policies/procedures; experience with complaint processing in
higher education; proficiency with Excel, Photoshop, Zoom, electronic data management systems, and using computer applications for data
retrieval and analysis; ability to generally understand and analyze scientific data and technical documentation; working knowledge of
federal research misconduct policies/procedures and federal policies/regulations related to the administration of sponsored projects in
research; effective project management skills; ability to organize, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks; strong verbal and written
communication skills; ability to work independently and contribute to team efforts; self-motivation; and meticulous attention to
