The Department of Computer Sciences and Electrical Engineering at Marshall University invites applications for three tenure-track at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2024.
Position Type: The position is full-time, nine-month, tenure-track. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The College of Information Technology and Engineering at Marshall University invites applications for an Assistant Professor in the Weisberg Division of Computer Science to begin in January 2019. We especially welcome candidates with a background in Data Science. The position is full-time nine-month tenure-track. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate is expected to develop a research program and actively seek external funding for research and collaborate on projects The candidate must be able to work In multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary setting and exh1b1t a strong commitment to excellence 1n teaching undergraduate and graduate computer science courses. The candidate must exhibit commitment in service to the institution. the division and the community and provide the cultural diversity and pluralism. In addition the successful candidate will must be able to conduct research in specialized areas, advise undergraduate and graduate students work as a team on department act,vit1es including curriculum development, recruitment, and other service and perform other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Weisberg Division of Computer Science and Dean of College of Information Technology and Engineering.
The successful candidate will also contribute to the University’s general education curriculum, with its emphasis on a common First-Year Seminar and core curriculum/ courses that enhance student’s critical thinking skills and the College’s support of interdisciplinary programs of study.

Background: The Department of Computer Sciences and Electrical Engineering offers three 8 S. degrees in Computer Science. Computer and Information Technology (with two emphases Game Development and Web Technology), and Electrical & Computer Engineering, and four M.S. degrees in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Data Science, and Electrical Engineering. The department is housed in the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences (CECS), a multi-disciplinary college with a wide range of faculty expertise and interests. Construction of a new 45-million-dollar Cyber Security Center starts in 2024 and the 78,000 square-foot building will house 13 different labs for the cyber security field such as Open-Source Intelligence, Industrial Control Systems SCIFF, and Digital Identity, as well as places for private industry.
